The Yacht Sea Party

All aboard, everyone!
We are going to sail to uncharted seas
Everybody get on board!
Our new captain's wife is willing to striptease
We will dance the night away
We'll gamble and drink gin...
If we get three sixes, we will win
But the poor people will surely lose
And we'll never have to pay our dues
All aboard, everyone!
Just lie back, enjoy the sun, and feel the breeze
Everybody get on board!
Our distractions will put all your minds at ease
We will dance the night away
We'll gamble and drink gin...
If we get three sixes, we will win
But the poor people will surely lose
And we'll never have to pay our...
Don't listen to a word they say
About how much we lie, cheat, and steal
Just let your feelings tell you the difference between what is fake and real
You're getting very sleepy
Close your eyes
Just let the sound of my voice
Be your guide...
All aboard, everyone!
We'll do anything to placate and appease
Everybody get on board!
We've got boatloads of new empty guarantees
We will dance the night away
We'll gamble and drink gin...
If we get three sixes, we will win
But the poor people will surely lose
And we'll never have to pay our...
Don't listen to a word they say
About how much we lie, cheat, and steal
Just let your feelings tell you the difference between what is fake and real
You're getting very sleepy
Close your eyes
Just let the sound of my voice
Be your guide...

Entitled to Be Untitled

He got a job
At his daddy's firm
But he thinks that he's a self-made man
His wealth came from
Inheritance
But he thinks it's from his well-known brand
He tells us that it's in his genes
And he was just born that way
Even when his idiocy is fully on display
He tells us that he knows best
Despite the experts' dismay
And all of his evidence comes from lots of hearsay
No one criticize this guy
Or he'll throw a fit
Then you'll go to court, where he'll sue you
Survival of the richest in the land of the free
The home of the brave is in foreclosure
Can you see the golden streams
Trickling down the drain?
I'm sure there are jobs down there somewhere
How can someone reach the top
When they're the bottom line?
How low can you go when your job is in limbo?
There are no more facts
Everybody needs to just relax
And also be scared
They are not elites
Even the orange guy with golden seats
Who showers in praise
There are super PACs
That purchase legislative acts
To enslave us all
They're under the sheets
With racists who have senate seats
Was it good for you?
News is often short-cited
In our big small town
Conspiracies are "just theories"
Schrödinger's immigrant got grabbed by tiny hands
No more stealing jobs while on Welfare
Now we all live three doors down from a lunatic
Who has skeletons in his crypt tonight
Naturally, Agent Orange hates the EPA
They'll tell everyone he is the Toxic Avenger

Profoundly Ordinary

What a rush!
What a thrill!
It seems like nothing else could fit the bill
What prowess!
Superb skill!
Those are very large shoes for one to fill
What presence!
What a voice!
Just the sound of it makes us all rejoice
What appeal!
Superb charm!
There is no way he could ever do us harm
Is he super human or is he just a man?
His name precedes all of his deeds
Is he somehow god-like or is he typical?
It all depends on what we believe
What a fraud!
What a scam!
He is the wolf to our sacrificial lamb
What prowess?
There's no skill
He'll just bullshit us and make us foot the bill
We're absent!
We're voiceless!
He will exploit us in times of great distress
What a prick!
There's no tact!
That is not a good way for one to act

Infinite Depth
03:25

How many perspectives does it take to fully grasp something?
And at what time should perspectives change?
What types of coincidences count as synchronicities?
Where is my golden scarab?
How many examples are enough to understand something?
And when are they false analogies?
What types of illusions are best suited for magicians?
Where should I direct my focus?
There is so much more than just what you see on the surface at any given time
When we try to eliminate ignorance, we find another mountain we must climb
How many wins does it take to be considered lucky?
And at what time is one considered cursed?
What types of predictions count as seeing into the future?
Where is my crystal ball?
How many experiences are enough to gain wisdom?
And when does it lead to inner peace?
What types of delusions are best suited for creative work?
Where does genius come from?

Only the Best
03:32

See this rock?
It is the best
It is one of a kind
You won't find
Better rocks
Anywhere else but here
You deserve only the best
We will tell you what that is
And we'll charge you much more than anyone else
We select only the best
Using arbitrary rules
So your status symbols elevate your worth
See this stone?
It is the best
It is one of a kind
You won't find
Better stones
Anywhere else but here

A Plague of Locus

What does that girl think of me?
I hope it's something good
My self-worth is riding on her opinion
All it takes is one bad thought
To awaken swarms of pestilence in my vulnerable mind
What does my boss think of me?
I hope it's something good
My career is riding on this next review
All it takes is one mistake
To awaken swarms of pestilence in my vulnerable mind
Save me
Save me from myself
Help me
Help me save myself
What does this guy think of me?
I hope it's something good
My self-worth is riding on his opinion
All it takes is one bad thought
To awaken swarms of pestilence in my vulnerable mind
What does this crowd think of me?
I hope it's something good
My career is riding on their reaction
All it takes is one mistake
To awaken swarms of pestilence in my vulnerable mind
Save me
Save me from myself
Help me
Help me save myself
It's time I find something inside
To give me a feeling of control
It's time I find a way to divide
What will crack and what will keep me whole

Look at the way those guys are dressed
It is so weird
It is not normal
Look at what those guys chose to eat
It is so weird
It is not normal
Look at the color of their hair
It is so weird
It is not normal
Look at the tattoos that guy has
It is so weird
It is not normal
That is not what I am used to
It seems really strange
I cling to my old traditions
Due to my fear of change
How can I get a complete view of anything when I filter out so much?
How can I make informed decisions in a world where I only see clichés?
Look at the art that's on display
It is so weird
It is not normal
Look at the piercings that guy has
It is so weird
It is not normal

The only thing I care about is making sure someone's born
After that, they're on their own
I won't support the poor
Starving kids and bad parents are none of my concern
Take away all they have and say it is because they're lazy
Tell me everything I want to hear on my one issue
The rest of my morals will be thrown out like a tissue
Just give all of your lip service to the cheering masses
They are waiting for you to kiss their collective white asses
It might take a whole village to raise a single child
But some of the villagers choose not to pitch in
Rape victims and cases of incest are ignored
Take away their dignity and tell them that it was all their fault

Interpreters
03:09
|
|||
I live in a skewed reality full of alternative facts
Propaganda and emotions are fueling constant attacks
We no longer have a need to think for ourselves anymore
Everyone knows that is what we have press conferences for
We no longer need a dictionary to know what things mean
And we don't need scientists saving lives with a vaccine
They've got brand new definitions
So illusions can seem real
Laws will have interpretations
That make it easy to steal
They've got brand new definitions
To inform you how to feel
Laws will be crafted for them to
Make it easy to conceal
We no longer have a need to question those in government
Anyone who questions them will receive a punishment
We no longer need a constitution when creating laws
All that really matters now is the sound of mass applause

Beyond Redemption
04:22

I want a good tale to tell with a lesson to learn
Show me how the underdog makes an epic return
Conflict can create a place for characters to grow
Pushing them into the zone that's beyond their plateau
Time will not heal our wounds
Unless we spend it wisely
We can't define ourselves by the past anymore
Add time to tragedy
Sometimes we get comedy
Turn something horrifying into something absurd
Maybe tragedy is when I cut my finger and cry
And comedy is when I fall into a sewer and die
Sometimes when we laugh we tell ourselves that we're okay
Everyone wants to feel safe at the end of the day
If a joke is not benign
Some people will chuckle anyway
And sometimes the area is gray
It takes time for our fears to allay
Meaning is within our minds
Dictionaries can be thrown away
We may never know how to convey
What it is we really want to say

No Matter What
03:05
|
|||
Being right or wrong is so subjective
No one ever thinks that they're the bad dude
When you think you're right, you feel self-righteous
All of the ends justify the means
I will do what I said I would do no matter what
Even if it makes me look like I'm a total nut
I will always be the guy who's stuck in his old ways
That is, of course, unless it means I will get more praise
Being a victim is so subjective
No one ever thinks that they're the bad dude
When you think you're wronged, you feel self-righteous
All of the ends justify the means

Gay Ray Reggae
04:00
|
|||
Mr. Ashburn danced on the grave of LGBTQ rights
But he danced another way in Sacramento one night
While protecting us from the downfall of society
The Troy of King negotiated a male aide's salary
Mr. Curtis worked to protect the right to discriminate
But his work was done when his male escort changed his rate
Another escort helped Pastor Ted explore a brand new life
Much to the dismay of his followers and his wife
That's why we must wear our tin foil hats
To create a Faraday cage
It will shield us from the mind control
That the Hollywood elites beam from outer space
Schrock was an ogre who shrieked about the dangers of shower time
But he talked another way when on a gay chat line
Glenn Murphy, Jr. was rising in the Republican Party
Now he's on a sexual offender registry
Bruce Barclay was cleared of the initial charge of rape
But they still uncovered sex, lies, and videotape
Matthew Makela preached to gay kids that he thought they should stop
While he advertized on Grindr that he was a top

Mr. Radel said there should be drug tests for those who can't be Trey
Dr. Katz prescribed himself medication he voted against
Rush was quick to push a higher dose of pain for anyone but himself
Tasker had the task to defend our kids from sobriety
When the pot calls the grass green
They put up a smokescreen
And then look down on you
From the ground they think is actually high
Speaking of our kids, if you want some good stuff...just ask Denny Sparks
If you're looking for pills a radio host loves...just ask Mayor Grubbs
When the pot calls the grass green
They put up a smokescreen
And then look down on you
From their high elephants
When the pot calls the grass green
They put up a smokescreen
And then look down on you
From the ground they think is actually high

Pet Shop Fashion Colorado
Coitus, pharmaceuticals, and whatever Alan Freed's ghost calls my music.
These rough
recordings are some musical ideas I've had over the years. The process is very slow because I'm doing everything on my own - guitars, drums, vocals, lyrics, recording, mixing, etc. I hope to someday record them again with a band and maybe play them live. Until then, enjoy listening to my creative process.
